Japan was no match for Greece in the first game for both teams at the 2007 FINA Junior World Championships. Japan fell by a count of 17-6 in the last game of the morning session of Cal State Long Beach. Greece opened the game with three straight goals to take a 3-0 lead after the first quarter. In the second Japan got on the board with two goals but at halftime it was still a Greece lead of 7-2. In the second half Greece pulled away building a 12-4 lead after the third period and then tacking on five more goals in the fourth to end winners at 17-6.
